The HeartAssist 5™ Pediatric VAD features an exclusive direct flow measurement system.  At best, adult VADs only provide estimates of blood flows by the clinician or through software. These estimates can yield incorrect data at critical times, when you need this information the most.  Only the HeartAssist 5 Pediatric VAD provides direct measurement of actual blood flowing through the outflow graft of its blood pump.
