David Mackstaller
Director
J. David Mackstaller joined the
board of directors for MicroMed Cardiovascular in July
2008. Since March 2005, Mr. Mackstaller has been the
Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Corporate Development
for SynCardia Systems, Inc., and a member of SynCardia’s
board of directors since September 2005. SynCardia manufactures
the CardioWest™ temporary Total Artificial Heart
and is currently developing a family of pulsatile ventricular
assist devices.
Mr. Mackstaller brings a lifetime
of business experience to the board of directors for
MicroMed. In 1973, he co-founded the Schomac Group of
companies, a developer and operator of real estate projects
from coast to coast having a cumulative value of more
than $300 million. In 1991, Mr. Mackstaller joined Mr.
Ford to form Anthem Equity Group, Inc., a significant
owner and operator of commercial real estate in Southern
Arizona. Mr. Mackstaller was named an Ernst & Young
Entrepreneur of the Year in 2000. Mr. Mackstaller holds
a B.A. degree in economics from the University of Michigan
and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Michigan
Law School.
Ray
Bernal
Director
Ray Bernal joined the MicroMed board in January 2010.
Mr. Bernal retired as Vice President from Valley National
Bank of Arizona in 1992 where he managed and served
as credit administrator for various commercial loan
departments. He serves as a U.S. Bankruptcy Trustee
and owns two operating businesses. Mr. Bernal holds
a B.S. degree in Agricultural Economics from the University
of Arizona and graduated with distinction from the Southwestern
Graduate School of Banking at SMU.
Sailesh Saxena
Chief Financial Officer
Sailesh Saxena joined MicroMed in March 2010. He has been helping MicroMed as a Financial Consultant since September 2009. Mr. Saxena has over twenty years of consulting and leadership experience, in the areas of financial services, supply chain, information technology, research & development and operations. Prior to this, Mr. Saxena has worked with numerous private equity fund companies, like Matador Capital partners, Wright Capital, USGT Investors LP, Trinity Private Equity, in providing financial consulting and analysis on transactions to raise capital for potential acquisitions. Prior to this, Mr. Saxena worked for WMS software provider, Optum, where he held various management positions. Mr. Saxena holds a B.S in Electrical and Electronics engineering from Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS), Pilani, India and an MBA from SMU Cox School of Business with specialization in finance. He is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma honor society.
Bryan
E. Lynch
Chief Operating Officer
Bryan Lynch joined MicroMed in
July 1997 as Director of Operations and he became Vice
President of Operations in May 2001, then Vice President
of International Sales and Marketing in January of 2005 and Chief Operating Officer in June 2010.
Previously, he served as director of marketing and product
development with Komet Medical, Inc., a German manufacturer
and distributor of surgical instruments and hard tissue
cutting systems. From 1990 to 1994, Mr. Lynch served
as manager of engineering, research and development
for Surgimedics, Inc., a Texas-based medical device
company, developing products for minimally invasive
surgery, laser surgery and autologous blood transfusion.
Mr. Lynch is co-inventor of several patents including
pulsatile loop and implantable pump patents at MicroMed.
Mr. Lynch holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from
Texas Tech University and an M.B.A. from Texas Christian
University.
Jay Kraemer
Vice President of Sales & Marketing
Jay Kraemer joined MicroMed in February 2010. He has 27 years of sales, sales management and business development experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, implantable medical device and medical capital equipment areas where he and his sales and clinical teams won numerous awards for exemplary sales performance and customer service. Previously, Mr. Kraemer was a Region Sales Director for InTouch Health Technologies, a Company focused on the use of remote presence robotics in telemedicine in providing specialized medical care to patients in rural areas. Prior to that Mr. Kraemer served as a Regional Vice President for GE Healthcare leading a Sales Team responsible for $75M per year in revenue in diagnostic imaging equipment. Prior to that Mr. Kraemer spent 17 years in several positions of increasing sales management responsibility at Medtronic in both the Neurological and Cardiac Rhythm Management businesses. He was part of the original team that launched the first transvenous, tiered-therapy defibrillation systems in the industry. He was also Director of National Account Development at Medtronic Neurological where he lead efforts to drive new business with Executive Administration of several large National Health Systems in the U.S. Prior to Medtronic, Mr. Kraemer spent 3 years at Genentech Inc. where he was part of their first direct Sales Team that launched rt-PA, a Clot Buster for acute myocardial infarctions. Prior to that, Mr. Kraemer spent 5 years as a Senior Professional Sales Representative for Merck & Co., Inc. where he successfully sold musculoskeletal, ophthalmic and anti-infective office-based and hospital product lines. Mr. Kraemer holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Minnesota State University.
